Kasey's Apple Pie

 Crust- Rilla Dee's crust ( one 9 inch crust)


Filling

4 Granny Smith Apples

4 Honeycrisp Apples

1/2 cup salted butter

3TBS flour

1/4 cup of water

1/2 cup of sugar

1/2 cup of brown sugar

Dash of cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla


Topping

1 cup chopped walnuts

1/2 cup of flour

1/3 cup sugar

1/3 packed brown sugar

1 TBS cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1 stick of room temp butter (1/2 cup)


Instructions

Blind bake crust 8 min with beans and 2 minutes without at 375

Prepare topping by combining all ingredients to a crumbly texture

Peel and slice apples

Melt butter in large saucepan, and stir in flour to make paste

Add water and sugars

Bring to a boil and let thicken

Add apples, vanilla, and cinnamon

Stir and let the apples soften slightly

Pour apple mixture into the crust and add topping

Bake at 450 for 10 minutes

Reduce heat to 350 and bake for 35-40 more
