Four Layer Chocolate Cake

2 c sugar
3 Heaping Tbs shortening
2 eggs
1 c milk plus 1 Tbs vinegar
2 c unsifted flour
6 Tbs cocoa
2 tsp soda
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 c boiling water

Cake:-1st layer: Add in order given. Bake in cookie sheet (11x17) greased and floured pan at 375 for 15 minutes. 2nd layer: Mix together 8 oz cream cheese, 1 c powdered sugar, and 12 oz cool whip. Spread over cake when cooled. 3rd layer: Mix 1 large chocolate fudge instant pudding mix and 3 cups milk (save ½ c pudding for next layer) Spread remaining pudding on top of cream cheese mixture. 4th layer: Mix ½ c pudding (saved) and 12 oz cool whip and spread over pudding layer. Top with chocolate shavings.
