2 cans coconut milk (Mae Ploy brand is the best)
2 C. sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 c. sticky rice
sliced fresh ripe mango
Soak sticky rice for 2-3 hours.Drain. Steam rice in a bamboo cone over a rice pot.(available online or at a thai grocery store). While steaming cover with a damp cloth, turn rice from time to time with a wooden spoon. While the rice is steaming, prepare the coconut milk.
Warm coconut milk.sugar and salt over medium heat stirring constantly with a whisk until mixture is blended and smooth. In a medium bowl, mix a little more than 1/2 of the coconut milk mixture into the warm sticky rice, stir well to coat all the grains adding more coconut if necessary. The rice should be very moist but not soupy. Spread rice out in a glass dish, arrange fresh sliced mangos on top. Drizzle the remaining coconut milk over the mangos. Serve warm.
